Adoption: Xiaoyun speaks for Orphans

As an adopted child, I am particularly moved by the plight of orphans and supremely jealous of those who have the priviledge of adopting. The Lord has not opened the doors for us to adopt...yet, but that does not stop us from giving and praying for those who are answering the need by opening their homes to orphans around the world. I feel especially blessed to belong to a church and community that embraces the call to care for widow and orphans.  In our church of a little over a hundred souls, God has raised up two families to adopt internationally through Holt International~making our rural church multiracial :). He's called another family to foster care~being a safe place for children in between homes. In our community, a family felt moved to serve in Haiti and split their time between our fair town and the Mission of Hope near the coast in Haiti.
All this to say, I follow a number of adtoptions blogs. When I stopped over at Shonni's over at Nations Around Our Table  who shared  this precious video earlier this month I felt compelled to share this precious video with you. So sweetly said. So honestly spoken.

My hope and prayer is that you would be moved by this video to do one or all of the following:
*Pray: Lift up the need for people to care for the orphans in the world
*Give: Give generously to reputable organizations serving orphans, give generously to those pursuing adoptions to help defray the numerous expenses involved when adding a child to a family
*Ask: If the Lord would have you adopt? Seek his face in this matter. Adoption does not require a special skill set...it requires a willing heart bent in obedience to the One who adopted us into His eternal love.

The statistics are staggering. There are millions of orphans worldwide.
Millions of reasons to share your life, your love, and your laughter with an orphan,
Lori
